Who Am I?
I often wonder that myself. The simple answer is that I am many things to many people. I am a Surrey based amateur photographer who earns his keep working in the IT industry. I took up photography seriously in 1994 and since then It has developed into a passion for me.
In order to learn more about photography, I have been studying at my Local evening classs and am working towards completing all seven modules in the City & Guilds 9231 course. The articles and photographs on this site are a direct result of some of the work I have submitted for the course. I have just been awarded a Licentiateship distinction from the Royal Photographic Society in recognition of the works I have done so far on the course.
While I mainly focus on landscape and architecture, I enjoy all aspects of photography. As you can see from my published images my work takes on a number of different styles and techniques and I am always looking at new ways and methods to create images. I am at ease with the darkroom and the computer and enjoy the flexibility both methods of production allow. While not being a professional photographer, I have taken commissions and am currently investigating selling some of my stock images either directly or via libraries.
Apart from photography, I am also involved with a number of organisations including the National Trust where I help organise events and produce leaflets and advertising material and English heritage where I am working on the images of England project. I also organise a number of exhibitions and social activities for my colleagues in the photography class so all in all spare time is rare!
